Heading all the way to Australia is Don’s Light Adventure. Made with a custom mix of steel, tig welded and kitted out for a flat bar ride with fenders and rear rack. An all-around kind-of-ride.

News Addition: Hardest Day on the Bike EVER

On Saturday May 4th the following was pronounced by Sam and a handful of riders from the Campbell River area:

“The thousand year feud between Campbell (giver) River and Port All-ass-berni is about to be silenced for ever. We will arrive from the northern Nirvana of Scrambled Liver via ancient logging routes upon wheeled horses of iron and steel. General Dan Clements (as well as other from CR) and his hired band of Quadra thugs including myself and Chief Jeroen Dikkentman will embark on our perilous journey at first light. Upon arrival, we will lay waste to the small hamlet of Port Alberni and complete the 250km journey in time for tea if all goes well. Tremble Peons of Port!”

On Sunday May 5th, the ride began and finished on one of the HOTTEST DAYS ON RECORD for Vancouver Island (and this time of year). All at varying stages. All off road. Through and around cut blocks. All pain. Rule #5 definitely applied.

“Hardest day on the bike ever yesterday. Campbell River to Port Alberni and back via logging roads. 285 km of nasty, loose, dusty gravel road, 14 hours of saddle time 16 hours total. HUGE logging grade hills. Temperature high of 38C. Multiple creak dunkings. Big mountain pass (twice). Oh yeah………. one gear. We are all feeling a little slow today”.

A really wonderful article written by Bryce of North Shore Mountain Bike after a few of the NSMB boys made a trip to Quadra Island, riding the trails, hanging with locals and stopping in at Naked Bicycles. We had a great ride with them. Sounds like they had a good time too. It’s nice to hear that other riders appreciate the trails we’ve all spent years building and the the uniqueness that is Quadra Island. Quadra sometimes gets forgotten in everyone’s mad rush to get to Cortes. Thing is, it is BIG, beautiful and pretty special (we think so anyway). http://www.nsmb.com/quadraphelia/

Rack and fender ready if needed. Coupled to come apart and fit into a airline standard size suitcase. Makes travel with your bike a little more affordable.

This bike is intended for long group rides, fondo’s and the like. The frame material is KVA stainless with Enve carbon accents. She asked for custom Celtic swirls. Half paint, all stainless. Nice bike.

The picture background is new too! Complete with homemade bicycle chain pulley system.

News Addition: Fred Rompelberg's Note

This is cool. Fred Rompelberg, who holds the Absolute World Speed Record Cycling, was featured in the most recent copy of Fahrstil Magazine. While being interviewed, he wrote a note to Sam (who was featured in a previous issue).Here’s a bit of background on Fred. On 3 October 1995 he cycled behind a motor dragster on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, with a speed of 268.831 kilometers an hour (167.044 mph). He was the oldest professional cyclist in the world at the time. This is still a world record.

News Addition: Laurie's KVA Stainless Daily Adventure Belt Drive

Lots of little things going on with this bike. The seatstay has been modified to accomodate the Gates Carbon Belt Drive system. Other cool things like custom stainless rack, pump peg, internal cable routing.
