]]> Gallery Addition: Jen Erlendson - Winner of the COTR for a 2014 Naked X frame Mon, 17 Nov 2014 21:06:55 +0000 Last year we offered up a custom Naked X frame and fork to any person who had ridden in the Cross on the Rock cyclocross racing series for the 2013 season. We were super awesomely happy to hand off a custom build to Jen Erlendson, you would be hard pressed to find a more deserving recipient. Thanks Jen, for all that you do! We are offering the same prize again this year. To be drawn at the final race of the year, My Little Pony Cross (November 23rd, 2014). You gotta be there to win!!

Here are some thoughts from Jen: “I am very fortunate and appreciative to receive the grand draw prize at last season’s COTR so wanted to post a few pics to share the whole experience of having a custom bike made. A very cool experience and lots of learning for me! It has been lots of fun to try out a single speed this season to gain a different perspective. Looking forward to the last COTR in a week to see who the lucky winner will be for this year! A huge thanks to Sam Whittingham ofNaked Bicycles, Brad Head of Zed Wheel Works and Joele Guynup MacKenzie for stem, bars & seatpost!”

]]> Gallery Addition: Phil's Titanium Road Adventure with S&S Couplers Sat, 15 Nov 2014 21:01:21 +0000 Phil just picked up his bike from the shop and rode out the door headed half down Vancouver Island today. This crisp sunny day is a great day to try out his new Titanium S and S Coupled Road Adventure bicycle. Built up with Ultegra Di2, Eriksen Ti post, Chris King bits, Velocity wheels, and a brand spanking new Brooks saddle (to be worn in over the next 1500km – now that is dedication). It takes a special kind of rider to hop on his brand new bike and immediately ride 270km over the next 2 days. In fact, Phil (and his 2 rando friends that are riding with him) is a member of the BC Randoneering Club. Happy Riding Phil!! May the wind be at your back!

Lots of wicked RaceFace bits with blue highlights. Full raven paint and our Quadra Island DeadFish. In order to get a DeadFish on your bike, you’ve gotta ride the trail. Hillary is a great friend of ours. Has been on many Sunday rides, and Wednesday rides and whenever he can get out rides. LOVE that he’s riding Naked now.

]]> Gallery Addition: Kate's Grand Touring for Rohloff and EBB Thu, 23 Oct 2014 19:32:03 +0000 Kate came to pick up her frame and fork last night in the rain and muck of Quadra Island. Earlier that morning I helped to remove a giant maple that fell on the road out here. It was uprooted! Heavy rain and winds. Kate and her partner were getting ready to tuck in for the night, in their tent, just as the rains started laying in again. But they are no strangers to rough weather. Her plan is to build up this touring bike over the winter in northern BC. It’s ready for that Rohloff hub that she’s been waiting to use. Kate and her partner, Tim, run a homemade, wood-fired, sourdough bread company up in Wells, BC. In case you are up that way, .

More about the frame. This is a grand adventure, steel for 700C. 3 water bottle mounts. Rack and fender mounts. Disc brake mounts. Custom steel fork for disc too.

Unfortunately Andrew broke a body part just prior to his new X bike being built. He’s still on the road to recovery but can hopefully get this frame built-up and riding soon! Maybe make the last Cross On The Rock race of the year?

]]> Gallery Addition: X Bikes - One of these bikes is not like the others.... Wed, 08 Oct 2014 21:48:13 +0000 Spot Renny’s bike. Out of all the cross bikes made in this mega batch of 12, Renny’s was a little different. Not like the others. His heads back to the nostaligic paint of the early 90’s, pre-Trek days of Klein bikes.
